Q How do I apply the iron-on clothing labels?

A You need to use a hot, dry iron. Place the non-stick baking paper supplied with your labels over the label then press the iron firmly onto the label for about 8-10 seconds for standard size or 4-5 seconds for mini labels. Allow the paper to cool before you remove it from over the label. The heat from the iron melts the label and then as the label cools it hardens again with the adhesive activated. When it is attached correctly you will see the texture of the fabric impressed through the label.

WARNING: Do not place your iron directly onto the label as it will melt and stick to the bottom of the iron.

Q I have lost the paper you gave me to use with my iron-on labels. Can you tell me what it is?

A It is non-stick baking paper, either Glad Bake or Multix Bake (in Australia) which can be bought at the supermarket.

Q I need to remove a label from some clothing. How can I get it off?

A Removing clothing labels is not easy but you can try the following procedure. Place the baking paper provided over the label and reheat the label with a hot dry iron. Immediately remove the baking paper and while the label is still hot lift it from a corner. You can use a finger nail or a blunt knife to do this but please be careful not to burn yourself. The label will be soft and stretchy while it is hot. The label should peel away from the clothing. As it cools it may break and you will have to repeat this process until all the label has been removed.

Q I have some clear labels in my shoe label pack. What are they for?

A The clear labels need to be stuck over the top of each shoe label to prevent the lettering from rubbing off under the child's foot.

Q How do I attach a bag tag?

A Each bag tag comes with an elastic tie attached to it. Simply thread the free end of the elastic loop through a ring or zip on your bag and then stretch the loop back over the bag tag itself.

Q The elastic tie for my bag tag has broken, can I get another one?

A Yes, just call us and ask, we are happy to provide another elastic tie.

Q Can I split a set between 2 different names?

A No, each set of labels is printed from a single design, so they will all have the same name and/or picture. The same applies for the bag tags.

Q Can I have more than 1 name on a label?

A We design our labels with ONE NAME ONLY although in some instances it may be appropriate to print two names, for example when young twins share clothing or other items that need to be named. In that instance we will print the two first names and a surname, for example; Bill & Ben Smith. What we will not do is print labels with a surname twice or names of two siblings where the intention seems to be to cut them in half. Our labels are not made to be cut in half as this destroys the integrity of the design. We want your labels to look great when others see them.

Q How much information can I put on the labels - long names, phone numbers, etc?

A If the label you see in the label previewer does not appear how you want it to, it is best to call us. As we graphically design each label before it is printed, we can make adjustments for long names or if more information is needed.

Q Are the labels on the website the actual size?

A Not necessarily. The size you see will depend on your screen size and resolution. Actual dimensions of each label type are detailed on the label design page for each product.

Q Can I have a picture on mini labels?

A Mini labels are too small to guarantee that all of our pictures will print clearly. Rather than our customers being disappointed with the quality of the printing of some pictures, we would rather only print pictures on our larger label sizes.

Q Can I order my labels in a single colour?

A Yes you can and there is no additional charge.

Q Why does it cost 3 pounds more to have 2-6 colours of my own choice?

A When you choose your own colours, we have to print your labels separately to the standard orders and this takes more time. The £3 covers the extra time it takes to print and pack your labels separately from all the others.

Q What colours are in the "girls" set?

A Bright pink, baby pink, purple, lime, orange and bright blue.

Q What colours are in the "boys" set?

A Red, navy, black, lime, orange and bright blue.

Q What colour are the iron-on clothing labels?

A All clothing labels are white with coloured lettering. You can choose from navy, black, red or pink lettering.

Q Are 40 stickers and 50 clothing labels the smallest quantities I can buy?

A Yes, they are the minimum we print unless you place a special order by phone which would have to be quoted separately.

Q Can I buy larger quantities than shown on the website?

A Yes you can but for those we need to provide a quote for you. Please call our office directly if you would like a larger quanitity.

Q What is the charge for postage?

A Postage and handling is included in the price of the order.

Q How long do they take?

A Orders are dispatched from our office in 7 business days, and will be delivered by regular mail. Allow 2 – 4 working days for Royal Mail to deliver depending on where they are being sent.

Q Can I pay for my order but send it to another address?

A Yes you can as long as it is within the UK, Ireland or Channel Isles.

Q Can I place my order over the phone and send a cheque or money order later?

A Yes, but the order will not be processed until the cheque is received.

Q What if I receive my labels and there is a mistake with the spelling or picture?

A All orders are checked before they are mailed however, errors are occasionally made. If this happens you should phone My Name Label and if the error is ours the labels will be reprinted at no extra cost to you.

Q I made a mistake with the spelling and now they have been printed with the spelling mistake. What should I do?

A Label text and pictures are printed as they appear on the order when it was placed. Please check your order carefully before submitting it. If you make an error when typing your order, you should contact My Name Label immediately so that it can be fixed. If you do not contact My Name Label before the labels have been printed then the cost of reprinting them will lie with the customer.

Q My iron-on labels have come off in the wash. Why?

A Our iron-on labels are guaranteed to stay on in the wash and tumble dryer if they are applied correctly. Labels will not stay on if the adhesive on the back of the label is not activated properly. You need to use a hot, dry iron. Place the non-stick baking paper supplied with your labels over the label then press the iron firmly onto the label for about 8-10 seconds for standard size or 4-5 seconds for mini labels. Q My stickers are not staying on. Why?

A Stickers are guaranteed to stay on MOST clean, dry, smooth surfaces. We say most, because plastics are made in many different ways and we are unable to test them on everything. If you find that there is a particular item to which a sticker will not adhere but you have no problem with other items, it is probably to do with that particular type of plastic. They will not stick on plastics that have silicon in them as this is designed to make the surface of the plastic non-stick.

Q What payment options do you have?

A We accept Visa and Mastercard, cheque (make out to My Name Label), and Bank Transfer (see below for details).

Q Can I pay by Bank Transfer (EFT) using my online banking?

A Yes you can. The My Name Label bank details are

Please reference your order number with your payment. Your order may be delayed if we are unable to match your payment to your order. We cannot proceed with your order until payment is received and this may take a couple of days using this payment method.

Q Is my online credit card payment secure?

A Yes it is. We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology on our website which encrypts all data sent from your computer to our server. My Name Label does not store any of your credit card details on our server. The Payment Gateway provider we use to process your payment is PCI DSS (Payment Card Indusrty Data Security Standard) compliant.
